Brevard Veterans Back to Class

Bringing History, Leadership, Service, and STEM to Life

Since 2015, the MOAACC Veterans Back to Class Program, in partnership with the Brevard Veterans Memorial Center, has connected Space Coast students K through 12 with veterans, military leaders, NASA professionals, and community experts who bring classroom lessons to life.

Our speakers provide firsthand and real-world perspectives to enrich classroom instruction and make subjects more meaningful, memorable, and relevant.

Presentations support a wide range of curriculum topics, including:

  • The U.S. Constitution and Flag Etiquette
  • Citizenship and Civic Responsibility
  • American History and Military History
  • Leadership and Character Development
  • Military Service and Public Service
  • Space Exploration and NASA Programs
  • Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)
  • Career Exploration and Life Skills

Through personal stories, interactive discussions, and real-life experiences, students gain insights that cannot be found in textbooks alone.  Whether discussing historic events, military leadership, constitutional principles, space missions, or careers in STEM, our speakers inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper appreciation for service and citizenship.

The program is coordinated through the MOAACC Speakers Bureau, which matches educator requests with qualified speakers based on grade level, curriculum objectives, classroom needs, and supports special events such as Veterans Day, Memorial Day, Constitution Day, Career Days, and STEM programs.
