The INTERCOM is the MOAACC monthly news magazine published since 1974. It has won many MOAA National Newsletter Awards most recently the 2024 Col Marvin J. Harris Communication Award. Since 2005 it has been available on our website as well as the printed version. It is filled with news, information and articles of interest to its members. We encourage articles from members personal history or newsworthy stories of interest to the readers of the newsletter. The deadline for articles is the 15th of the month prior to the month of publication. Early submissions are encouraged! THE EARLIER THE BETTER!!

Are you receiving the MOAACC Five Things e-Newsletter?

Every alternating Monday, we email our Five Things e-Newsletter to chapter members to keep them up to date on legislative issues affecting veterans, the military, and families; what we are doing in the community for veterans, the military, their families, and students; and events for our members. This is an extremely important way, especially now with limitations on in-person meetings, to keep you “in the know” about our current activities and events.

Not getting the e-Newsletter? There could be several reasons. We might not have a valid e-mail address for you–make sure your member profile in the chapter on-line database (accessible through our website) is current. The e-Newsletter email originates from our server at moaacapecanaveral@gmail.com . As a mass e-mailing to over 1,000 recipients, some e-mail providers may send it to the “promotions”, “spam” or “junk” email folder. If you find it there, adjust your settings to receive it in your primary email inbox. If you still cannot find it or need assistance, contact us at moaacapecanaveral@gmail.com . The MOAACC authors webpage highlights our talented chapter members who have written books. Thus far, there are eight authors and sixteen of their books featured on the page. Need a gift for yourself or that special someone? Check out the webpage for an interesting selection. TMBC (In person & Virtually via Zoom)

The Thursday Morning Breakfast Club (TMBC) is held every Thursday at the Indian River Colony Club, At Ease Club, in the 19th Hole Lounge. The meeting starts promptly at 0800 and ends just as promptly at 0900. Enter through the main gate at IRCC at the intersection of Murrell Road and Freedom Drive in Viera and ask for directions at the gate.

The Breakfast Club is an informal gathering to keep informed on happenings in Congress, at the VA Clinic, the Patrick SFB Exchange & Commissary, sister veteran’s organizations and more. The meeting is filled with humor and stories of members experiences in war and life. Welcome new members! Come add your two cents. Despite the name there is no breakfast, just great camaraderie and fun.
